Is HubSpot CRM worth it in 2026?
The free CRM is worth it as a shared contact file. Starter is worth it if you will stay there. Professional is where shops accidentally fund an onboarding invoice.

Short answer
Yes — the free CRM is worth it for a two-person sales motion replacing a spreadsheet. Starter at the $20/seat list can be worth it if marketing will share the file and you will not touch Professional. No — if you need a pipeline-first UI that reps love (Pipedrive), a dialer (Close), or you are buying Professional “because we might do campaigns.”
The September 20, 2026 math
HubSpot still publishes free CRM tools at $0 with contact limits. Starter Customer Platform list is $20 per seat per month. Limited-time Starter offers have appeared around $7/seat annually or $10/seat monthly — promotions, not the forever price. Sales Hub Professional is commonly listed around $90/seat/month billed annually plus required onboarding. Confirm hubspot.com/pricing/crm.
- Two people, Free: $0.
- Five people, Starter list: $100/month.
- Five people, Pipedrive Growth annual: $195/month.
- Five people, Sales Hub Professional at ~$90 plus onboarding: a different budget.
When it is worth it
You want one contact record, email logging, and meeting links without procurement. You might run marketing from the same file later. You will appoint someone to turn off the sprawl. That is why HubSpot ranks first on our small-team CRM list — as a platform on-ramp, not as a phone-first sales floor.
When it is not
Residential real estate lead ponds want Follow Up Boss, not a general CRM — see that ranking. Phone-heavy outbound wants Close. Pipeline-only teams who will pay per seat often prefer Pipedrive Growth. Buying Professional for six people is how you fund onboarding you will resent.
