Best CRM for insurance agents (2026)
An agency needs policies, commissions, and a follow-up that happens. A generic sales cloud will not quote a group.
By Gregory GreensteinUpdated September 20, 2026Affiliate disclosure
Insurance CRM fails when leads from a carrier portal, a website form, and a Facebook ad land in three inboxes — and commissions reconcile in a spreadsheet. The job is: one people-and-policy file, a first touch, and (for many shops) an agency management system, not just a pipeline.
This ranking is for US independent agents and small agencies — benefits, P&C, or mixed — not a national broker’s Epic rollout. AgencyBloc is benefits-shaped. EZLynx is rating/quoting-shaped. HawkSoft is a P&C AMS. HubSpot is the generalist skip-if.
Most of these vendors quote. We date-stamp that fact as of September 20, 2026 and refuse invented AMS stickers. We are not ranking generative AI policy writers. Those stay on Aiacent.

| # | Product | Best for | Public starting price | Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AgencyBloc | Health, group benefits, and senior-market agencies that need AMS + commissions | Not published as a national self-serve rate card. AMS+, Commissions+, and Quote+ are packaged and quoted (commissions packages by transaction volume; quoting by groups). Request pricing on agencybloc.com/pricing. | 8.3 |
| 2 | EZLynx | P&C independents who need comparative rating next to the client file | EZLynx / Applied-family packages are typically sales-assisted. We will not invent a per-user sticker from a reseller forum. Confirm ezlynx.com. | 8.1 |
| 3 | HawkSoft | Independent P&C agencies that want a purpose-built AMS, not a sales CRM | HawkSoft publishes agency-management plans through a conversation. Confirm hawksoft.com. We do not freeze a stale per-user rumor. | 7.8 |
| 4 | HubSpot CRM | Producers who do not need an AMS and only want a shared contact file | Free CRM $0. Starter Customer Platform list $20/seat/month; limited-time Starter promos appear. Professional hubs add onboarding. | 7.0 |

You are a personal-lines P&C shop that lives in comparative rater + AMS. EZLynx or HawkSoft is the vertical. AgencyBloc is built for benefits and senior.
Why it ranks
- Policies, people, and commissions are one system — the benefits-agency job.
- Quote+ exists if small-group quoting is the weekly fire.
- Compliance-minded workflows beat a generic CRM you will abandon at renewal.
- A known name when you hire from another benefits shop.
Watch-outs
- No quote, no comparison to HubSpot Starter at $20/seat.
- Wrong vertical if you only write auto and home.
- Implementation is a project. Budget data cleanup.
- Third-party “$15,000/year” blogs are not official.
02
EZLynx
P&C independents who need comparative rating next to the client file
Public pricing: EZLynx / Applied-family packages are typically sales-assisted. We will not invent a per-user sticker from a reseller forum. Confirm ezlynx.com.

You write group health and never touch a personal-lines rater. AgencyBloc is the other desk.
Why it ranks
- Rating and the customer file in one motion is why P&C agencies stay.
- Carrier connectivity is the product, not a Zapier hobby.
- Useful when speed-to-quote is the leak, not a HubSpot sequence.
- A path into the broader Applied ecosystem if the group later standardizes.
Watch-outs
- Quote opacity. Get seats, rating, and AMS lines in writing.
- Not a benefits commissions engine.
- Training time is real. A rater nobody uses is a second Excel file.
- If the brokerage owns the account, ask who owns the book on the way out.
03
HawkSoft
Independent P&C agencies that want a purpose-built AMS, not a sales CRM
Public pricing: HawkSoft publishes agency-management plans through a conversation. Confirm hawksoft.com. We do not freeze a stale per-user rumor.
HawkSoft official site (hawksoft.com), reviewed September 20, 2026.

You are a one-producer life shop that only needs follow-up. HubSpot Free or a benefits AMS will fit better.
Why it ranks
- AMS is the job: policy detail, downloads, and a file a CSR will open.
- Built for independents, not a generic pipeline.
- Useful when Applied Epic is more platform than you will operate.
- A known floor system for staff you hire from other HawkSoft shops.
Watch-outs
- Not a marketing cloud.
- Comparative rating may still be a second product (often EZLynx-class).
- Migration from another AMS is a project. Export first.
- Get the all-in quote including downloads and support.

HubSpot CRM
Producers who do not need an AMS and only want a shared contact file
Public pricing: Free CRM $0. Starter Customer Platform list $20/seat/month; limited-time Starter promos appear. Professional hubs add onboarding.

You quote, download, or pay commissions in the same system. HubSpot is a general CRM. It will not become EZLynx.
Why it ranks
- Free is enough for relationship-only follow-up if an AMS already holds policies.
- Email logging and meeting links without an AMS sales cycle.
- A path into marketing later — also the trap.
- Fine as a layer on top of a carrier portal, not a replacement.
Watch-outs
- No native comparative rater or commissions engine.
- Contact-tier math on paid marketing surprises agencies that import old lists.
- Two systems of record (HubSpot + AMS) need a rule.
- Do not buy Sales Hub Professional to look like a tech company.
How we picked
The job is a US independent insurance file: people, policies or quotes, and follow-up. We scored vertical fit (benefits vs P&C), published-price honesty, and whether the product is an AMS or a CRM. Applied Epic and Vertafore stay off as enterprise bake-offs.
