How money works

If you click a partner link and later buy, subscribe, or start a paid trial, we may earn a commission. That is the business. Editorial pages stay dated, skip-ifs stay in public, and we still tell you to skip a product that is a bad fit.

Empty partner slots

Outbound “visit this product” buttons resolve in this order: a real environment variable (AFFILIATE_GUSTO and friends), a hard-coded slot in lib/affiliates.ts, then the vendor’s official URL. Slots ship empty. We do not invent PartnerStack, Impact, or click IDs. Affiliate buttons use rel="sponsored nofollow". Official fallbacks use a normal external rel.

What money cannot buy

• A position in a ranking table
• Removal of a skip-if, con, or caveat
• A score

If we ever accept a labeled sponsorship, it will be marked as a billboard, not a review. There is no Deals page in this first launch slice.

FTC-style plain talk
