Best inventory software for ecommerce (2026)
The job is not overselling. Native Shopify wins until channels and warehouses say otherwise.

Ecommerce inventory software fails when Amazon, the website, and a wholesale spreadsheet each have their own truth. The job is one available-to-sell number. AI ad tools and creative generators stay on Aiacent. This page is ops.
If you only sell on Shopify with one warehouse, you do not need Cin7. If you manufacture, Katana starts to make sense. Zoho is the cost-sensitive multi-channel on-ramp.
Prices as of September 20, 2026. Shopify plans start at $39/month; inventory is included until it is not. Cin7 and Katana live in the hundreds per month. Confirm official pages.

| # | Product | Best for | Public starting price | Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shopify | Stores whose catalog and checkout already live on Shopify | Paid Shopify plans start at $39/month on the public POS/plan pages we reviewed. Inventory is included; POS Pro is +$89/location if you also sell in person. Apps that “fix” inventory are extra. | 8.4 |
| 2 | Cin7 | Brands selling across channels and warehouses who will pay for a system of record | Public list commonly starts around $349/month for Cin7 Omni-class plans; packages are often sales-assisted. Confirm cin7.com. We will not invent a SKU grid from a reseller blog. | 7.9 |
| 3 | Katana | Makers who sell online and need materials, not just finished units | Public Core-class plans are commonly listed from the high hundreds annually / roughly $179–$299/month depending on the current card and add-ons. Confirm katana.com/pricing. Usage and shop-floor extras stack. | 7.8 |
| 4 | Zoho Inventory | Cost-sensitive multi-channel sellers who will configure Zoho | Zoho Inventory publishes a free tier and inexpensive paid plans on zoho.com/inventory/pricing/. Confirm the live contact/order caps — Zoho changes bundles. Usually far below Cin7’s starting point. | 7.5 |

You are multi-channel with serious warehouses or manufacturing. Native inventory will lie, and you will pay for an app pile.
Why it ranks
- One catalog is the entire reason to stay native.
- Good enough for a single DC and a Shopify-first channel mix.
- POS Lite rides the same stock if you pop up.
- You already pay for the commerce subscription. Do not add Cin7 for sport.
Watch-outs
- Multi-location and wholesale complexity outgrow native fast.
- App Store inventory apps stack fees and sync bugs.
- Third-party payment extra fees if you leave Shopify Payments.
- Not a manufacturing MRP.

Cin7

You are under ~$1M and Shopify native still matches the stock room. Cin7’s public starting points live in the hundreds per month.
Why it ranks
- Channels and warehouses share one available-to-sell.
- B2B and retail together is why people leave Shopify native.
- Accounting sync matters when inventory is the balance sheet.
- A real ops hire can own it. A founder-only shop often cannot.
Watch-outs
- Implementation is a project. Budget calendar, not just $349.
- You can overbuy relative to a Katana or Zoho setup.
- Bad data in means bad stock out. Clean SKUs first.
- Quote opacity — get it in writing.
03
Katana
Makers who sell online and need materials, not just finished units
Public pricing: Public Core-class plans are commonly listed from the high hundreds annually / roughly $179–$299/month depending on the current card and add-ons. Confirm katana.com/pricing. Usage and shop-floor extras stack.

You only resell finished goods. Katana is manufacturing-shaped. Shopify native or Zoho will be calmer.
Why it ranks
- BOMs and materials are the product. Finished-goods-only tools will lie.
- Shopify and Amazon connections exist so the storefront is not a second spreadsheet.
- Useful when “we sold it” has to decrement steel and screws.
- A known path for small manufacturers who outgrew Sheets.
Watch-outs
- Overkill for a DTC reseller.
- Add-ons and user math change the napkin number.
- Implementation still a project.
- Not a full ERP. Do not pretend it is NetSuite.

Zoho Inventory
Cost-sensitive multi-channel sellers who will configure Zoho
Public pricing: Zoho Inventory publishes a free tier and inexpensive paid plans on zoho.com/inventory/pricing/. Confirm the live contact/order caps — Zoho changes bundles. Usually far below Cin7’s starting point.

You want a specialist manufacturer tool or you already standardized on Cin7. Zoho rewards setup time.
Why it ranks
- Price is the point. You can try multi-channel without a $349 floor.
- Sits next to Zoho Books/CRM if you already live in that family.
- Order and warehouse basics exist before you graduate.
- Honest for a side-hustle brand that suddenly has two channels.
Watch-outs
- You will configure it. There is no white-glove default.
- Shopify-native users may hate the extra login.
- Caps on free/cheap plans are the upgrade path.
- Support expectations should match the bill.
How we picked
The job is ecommerce available-to-sell for US sellers under ~50 people. We scored native-vs-specialist honesty, manufacturing fit, published prices, and implementation gravity. Lightspeed and NetSuite are different buyers.
