Is Ramp worth it in 2026?

Ramp is worth it when you will issue cards, set limits, and close the month on Free. It is not worth it as a vibes metal card you cannot get approved for.

Short answer

Yes — for incorporated US teams that want unlimited virtual cards, receipt matching, and bill pay in one login, and that pass underwriting. Free is a real product. No — if you cannot get approved, if you only needed checking (Mercury is calmer), if you only reimburse personal cards (Expensify), or if you are a sole proprietor who wanted one plastic at a branch. Ramp is a fintech. Cards are issued with partners. We are not a bank and this is not a credit offer.

This sits next to expense cards, expense management, and startup credit cards. Brex is the other spend platform. Melio is bill pay without cards. Approval decides more than a blog score.

The September 20, 2026 fees

Free $0/user/month. Plus $15/user/month plus a platform fee by team size (~20% off annual). Enterprise quote-only. Confirm ramp.com/pricing. Rewards rates rotate; we will not invent one.

  • Twelve months of Free, if approved: $0 software.
  • Ten people on Plus: $150/month plus the platform fee — model the live card.
  • Brex software: $0/user starter; Premium $12/user. Account $0. See Is Brex worth it for startups.
  • Expensify is a reimbursements bill, not a card program.
  • Mercury checking is $0; debit is not a policy engine.

When Ramp is worth it

  • You will issue more than one card and lock them when someone leaves.
  • Receipts and QBO/Xero matching are the close you actually miss.
  • Bill pay and cards should share a login — finance is one person.
  • You want Free before you pay for Plus.
  • Brex eligibility failed or you already bank at Mercury and only needed spend controls.

When Ramp is not worth it

  • You cannot get approved. A ranking cannot mint a limit.
  • You only needed a business checking account. Mercury or Novo.
  • You only reimburse personal cards. Expensify — see expense management.
  • You wanted a traditional charge card and rewards as the product. Amex on the credit-cards ranking.
  • You will buy Plus to look like a Series B finance desk.
  • Restricted category. Read eligibility.

Honest alternatives

Brex if you want the account in the same brand and you get approved. Mercury if checking is the job. Amex or Chase Ink if you wanted an issuer, not a spend OS. Melio if AP is the leak and nobody needs a card. Bluevine if you wandered here chasing yield — that is Is Bluevine worth it, not this page.

What we will not recommend: a shared personal Amex in Slack, four card programs because a thread listed a stack, or treating treasury yield marketing as a reason to apply. Appoint one spend system.
