Is Brex worth it for startups in 2026?

Brex is worth it when you want virtual cards and a $0 account in one brand and you get approved. It is not worth it as a vibes metal card.

Short answer

Yes — for incorporated US startups that want virtual cards, spend limits, and a $0 business account in one login, and that pass underwriting. No — if you only needed checking (Mercury is calmer), if you only needed reimbursements and already have Ramp, or if you are a sole proprietor who wants one metal card at a branch. Brex is a fintech. Cards and accounts are issued with partners. We are not a bank and this is not a credit offer.

This sits next to startup credit cards and startup checking. Ramp is the other spend platform. Mercury is checking. Approval decides more than a blog score.
