Is Found banking worth it in 2026?
Found is worth it when you are self-employed and want a business-named account plus light books in one app. It is not worth it if you have two founders or deposit cash.

Short answer
Yes — for a US sole proprietor or single-member LLC who invoices, wants a business-named account, and will actually use the in-app tax estimates instead of a shoebox. No — if you have two founders, a bookkeeper who needs a real QBO file, cash deposits, or you will not pass eligibility. Found is a financial technology company. Banking services are provided by partner banks. We are not the FDIC and not your accountant.
This sits on our freelancer banking and startup checking lists. Novo is the plainer $0 checking story. Mercury is the two-founder admin. Wave or QBO is a real ledger if Found’s books extras are marketing you will ignore.
The September 20, 2026 fees
Found markets a $0 business banking app for self-employed operators. Paid tax-help or bookkeeping extras may appear on the live site and in-app. Confirm found.com and the current fee schedule. Do not treat a blog “free forever” post as a contract.
- Core checking story: $0 monthly on the marketing we reviewed — confirm in-app.
- Paid extras: only if you will use them. A bookkeeping add-on you ignore is a second Wave bill.
- Novo: $0 advertised checking without the books story.
- Mercury standard checking: $0; paid software from $35.
- Wave Pro: $19/month or $190/year if you want invoicing on a real $0 ledger instead.
When Found is worth it
- You are self-employed and still mixing client ACH with rent.
- You want one app for a debit card, invoices, and a rough tax set-aside.
- You will not hire a bookkeeper this year and you will open the app weekly.
- Novo feels like “just a bank” and you wanted the books story attached.
- You are not raising, not two-founder, and not depositing cash.
When Found is not worth it
- Two founders plus a bookkeeper need an admin. That is Mercury.
- You will envelope-budget. That is Relay.
- You deposit cash. That is a branch — Chase on the LLC ranking.
- A CPA already asked for QBO or Xero. Found is not that file.
- You want cards and lockouts for a team. That is Ramp — see expense cards.
- Restricted category. Read eligibility before you apply.
Honest alternatives
Novo if you only wanted $0 checking. Mercury if wires and a two-founder admin are coming. Relay if you will open buckets. Wave plus Novo if you want a real $0 ledger next to a plain account. Bluevine if yield is the driver. See Is Novo worth it and Is Mercury worth it.
What we will not recommend: treating Found as a substitute for a filed return, running a 10-person shop on a solopreneur app, or opening Found and Mercury and Novo because a thread listed a stack. Appoint one operating account.
